Requirements to apply for unemployment insurance

When applying for the benefit for the first time:

The worker must have received at least 12 wages in the last 18 months immediately prior to the dismissal date.

When applying for the benefit for the second time:

The worker must have received at least 9 wages in the last 12 months immediately prior to the dismissal date.

When applying for the benefit for the third time or more:

The worker must have received at least 6 wages in the months immediately preceding the date of dismissal.

To apply for the benefit, the worker dismissed without just cause receives from the employer a document with the Unemployment Insurance Application number. After that, he can request through the channels:

• Application of the Digital Work Card;
• Government portal https://www.gov.br/pt-br,
• Through the phones of the Regional Labor Superintendencies;
